Learner Profile
Skills for Life programme level 2 is for learners at second level who:
o are unable to attain all or most Junior Certificate learning outcomes due to mild/moderate general learning disability
o have not yet achieved and may not be able to achieve level 3 learning outcomes
o have been assessed at primary school as having special educational needs
o need support in personal and social development
o need development of basic key skills
Objectives
Objectives of the programme include enabling learners to:
o extend their basic knowledge, skill and competence in personal and social development and in key skills
o develop their basic skills in communication, decision-making and problem-solving
o achieve meaningful learning outcomes in a mainstream school environment
o achieve some Junior Certificate learning outcomes
